Honeysuckle Cottage is a delightful one bedroom cottage
tucked away down a private road which overlooks the Shimmings Valley in the ancient market town of Petworth which goes back
to Medieval Times and its only a five minute walk from the cottage to the town.
Petworth is in West Sussex in an area of outstanding beauty and has National
park status, yet only a 30 minute drive to Chichester and the beautiful beaches on The West Sussex coast.
In Petworth
there are lots of charming old buildings, winding lanes, cobbled streets and of course Petworth House (owned by The National
Trust) where many of JMW Turners masterpieces were painted. Petworth Park was designed by Capability Brown and has 700 acres
of beautiful countryside for you to enjoy all year round. In the summer months it hosts many music and theatre events during
Petworth Festival. In the Winter Petworth it is equally as appealling as the Summer months . It takes on a different
feel with lovely winter walks in Petworth Park, gorgeous pubs with roaring fires, lovely shops to look round stopping off
at the many teas shops that Petworth has to offer making it an ideal winter break destination . Every December there is a
real Christmas feel to the town with The Christmas Market usually taking place on the first Saturday of the month with carol
singing and late night shopping with mulled wine and mince pies..
Petworth is renowned for the countrys finest Antiques but scattered
amongst these shops you will find designer boutiques, individual gift shops, local produce interior and household furnishing
shops.
Petworth has a supermarket, post office,
bakers, bank, superb delicatessen, wine shop and butchers and
we have superb pubs, restaurants, cafes to suit all tastes .
Goodwood House is a short drive away and hosts many sporting events including
Glorious Goodwood, horseracing,vintage week, The Revival of speed and The Festival of Speed.
So many interesting places to visit and so close by makes Honeysuckle Cottage
the Ideal location to visit the South Downs National Park.
There is the lovely town of Arundel and its magnificent Castle, Amberley, Midhurst and Chichester all within
30 minutes.Portsmouth about 40 minutes away has so much to offer including Nelsons Dockyard and great shopping at Gunwharf
Quay on the waterfront with many bars and restaurants. Chichester has fabulous shopping many individual shops, restaurants,
cafes and the stunning Chichester Cathedral well worth a visit particularly in the Summer when they host The Festival of Flowers
Petworth has great
transport links to and from the ports and airports. London Gatwick and Heathrow airport are about one hour away. If you wish
to travel by train there are two mainline stations close by. Haslemere and Pulborough (15 mins taxi) which take you to the
heart of London ideal for those guest wishing to visit The Olympic Games
